Park & Pipe Ski

The Snow Centre, Stoke Snowsports Club

I am sponsored by The Snow Centre, this is my home slope! They are a great family of skiers and snowboarders and very supportive. I also have a great clothing sponsor called URBANpiste, with a good range of clothing for anyone, on and off the snow. Flipout Stoke, the trampoline park thanks to them I can get a lot of tricks and core training done.

Equipment Used:

Boots: I wear a Full tilt boot, love them!!! Ski's / Snowboard: I ski Volkl, K2 and Amarda

Local Slope:

Swadlinote is my closet but Stoke is my local Slope there is such a good feeling at the slope and everyone pushes and helps the other on.

Season Goals:

This season I want to learn switch ups on the gas pipes, switch onto rails, take my switch 360 to the big kicker, add grabs into my 540 and learn how to spin a 720. I want to push past where I feel comfortable and spend more time on snow.

Long-term Goals:

Long term I would like to compete for my Country if it is possible and spread the love of Freestyle skiing and help make it a sport that anyone can do, regardless of their background,

What does it mean to be selected?:

It means a lot to be selected it helps me feel part of something special, it is good access to great Coaching for my skiing and will help attend more training sessions. Being on Snowport England can help my parents and me with applying for funding, help with reaching my goals and build my confidence within Park and Pipe, especially when you have Coaches that help you believe in yourself. Thanks to Snowsport England I have time with these Coaches, that maybe I had before but now I have more time. Being selected by Snowsport England is wonderful and has given me a pathway to a possible future.

Who is your snowsports Role Model?:

Sarah Hoefflin

Where is your favourite place to ski or snowboard?:

UK: The snow Centre, Halifax and Stoke - I am torn between all 3 Non-UK: Laax no doubt about it, it's got a sick park - P60 is awesome!!

What are your #PyeongchangPredictions for the 2018 Winter Olympics?:

15 medals between Park and Pipe, ski and snowboard. Woodsy, Katie Summerhayes and Katie O. Spread amongst team GB

Anything else?:

"I love the way by brother Justin will take time out from his training to help me with rail tricks, it's really cool. I spend a lot of time travelling up and down the country for training and competitions which I can't thank my parents enough for. Sometimes I will travel 4 hours for a 2 hours training session, it's like that when I go to The Snow Centre but I love the crew...I have made a lot of good friends from both the north and the south with living in the midlands and having to travel for training. I had the best time out at Laax in 2016 training with James Webb and Rob Taylor and really enjoyed the medium line in the snow park especially the kickers. I can't wait to get back to kicker work on snow in the mountains. I enjoy the dryland training sessions with Nick Jones and the crew at Loughborough University, I always end up trying something new in the gym hall and my floor work keeps on improving. Spending time with coaches and working on dryland tricks into foam pits or on the trampoline helps when taking a trick to the park and builds my confidence. Skiing is just sick and I am so happy that my parents take me to all these cool competitions and great training sessions. I'd rather be skiing than anything else.
