Results from the first race in the British Rollerski Series, and Iceland.

The first race in the 2017 British Rollerski Series was organised by London Region Nordic Ski Club at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit on 7 May.

Fifty-eight racers competed over 15km or 7.5km in free technique style.  Robin Pflughaupt [Hyde Park Rollerski Club] and Mantas Strolia [Cambridge Rollerski Club] won the Senior Female & Male 15km races; Rebecca Anderson [RAF] and Peter Tansey won their respective 7.5km categories.  Winners in the Youth and Junior categories were Beth Ireland [London Region Nordic Ski Club - LRNSC], Jasmin Uth and Tristan Marshall [both Hyde Park], and Samuel Bojarski [LRNSC].

Double congratulations go to Beth Ireland as on 29 April she won first place in the Female 12.5 km Classic Fossavatngangan, Iceland’s top race, coming 4th overall and beating a strong international field.  Beth is a member of the British Nordic Development Squad and has her sights set on the Winter European Youth Olympics in Sarajevo 2019.
