UKSS - Level 3 Coach

THE AWARD

More experienced instructors often make the transition from instructing to coaching. They work with the same skiers over an extended period, planning, developing and modifying a programme rather than just delivering a single lesson. A level 3 coach is an experienced instructor or coach whose high levels of skill and knowledge allow them to make a significant contribution to the growth of both their skiers and their club or organisationA level 3 coach is able to put together knowledge from a variety of sources and apply it to their coaching. A level 3 coach can make adjustments to their session plans and is able to modify session content responding to any challenge.

Level 3 coaches demonstrate a high level of understanding of all aspects of the sport. The award is intended for use only at indoor snow slopes and artificial ski slopes within the UK.

A level 3 coach is authorised to work on a long term basis with skiers ranging from complete novice, to skiers who are able to show continuously linked parallel turning and to work with those seeking further specialisation, usually club members or those working towards becoming coaches and instructors themselves. It is envisaged that a level 3 coach is likely to make a significant contribution to the development of new coaches.
