BSA GBR Series Race 1 report - Pendle

The wonderful wild and beautiful Pendle Hill was the backdrop for the first GBR of the 2017 summer race season. A big thank you goes out to The British Ski Academy for sponsoring the series this year.

Pendle is well known for its beautiful views, sheep and unpredictable weather (four seasons in one day)! Thankfully, although a little blustery, it was dry and we were ready for a great day of racing.

Championship Ski and Snowboard kicks off second season, continuing to support young Park & Pipe talent

The second season of Championship Ski and Snowboard has kicked off at seven indoor and dry slopes across the UK, with six ski and six snowboard teams consisting of young up and coming skiers and snowboarders going head to head in the video competition league over the next five months.  

Delancey British Alpine Ski Team announced for 2017/18 season

British Ski and Snowboard are pleased to announce the Delancey British Alpine Ski Team for the 2017/18 season.

As we enter the start of an Olympic season, three World Cup athletes, six Europa Cup athletes, one FIS athlete and 17 Under-21 athletes will make up the 27-strong Delancey British Alpine Team.


Four volunteers recognised for their contribution to English snowsports as part of the new Chair’s Awards

This week saw the 'Chair’s Awards’ take place at the Snowsport England AGM, with four volunteers being honoured for their commitment and contribution to snowsports.

English Indoor Moguls Championships lands at Snozone Castleford this weekend and entries open for Slopestyle and Ski/Snowboard Cross Championships

The English Indoor Moguls Championships begin this weekend at their new home of Snozone in Castleford, with entries open until 18th May.

Taking place on Saturday 20th May, the country’s best Mogul skiers will descend on Yorkshire to tackle the purpose-built moguls course and show off their impressive skills.

The first race in the 2017 British Rollerski Series was organised by London Region Nordic Ski Club at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit on 7 May. 

Over two thousand children get a taste of skiing and snowboarding during National Schools Snowsport Week 2017

At the conclusion of the 2017 ‘National Schools Snowsport Week sponsored by Visit Andorra’ (, 2293 children from 77 schools got involved in the Snowsport England initiative, more than double the number in 2016.

The Earl of Wessex announced as new Royal Patron of British Ski and Snowboard

British Ski and Snowboard is delighted to announce that His Royal Highness, The Earl of Wessex, KG, GCVO, is the new royal patron of British Ski and Snowboard, the National Governing Body for Snowsports.

Dave Ryding Visits Kingsley School

Kingsley School Ski Squad had a surprise  visitor today to round off National Schools Snowsports Week, when Dave Ryding popped into see them for a chat and to learn more about their growing ski squad which trains at the Ackers in Birmingham and Snozone in Milton Keynes. 

Dave spoke to the girls about his journey from Pendle to the World Cup podium and his preparation for next season which include the Olympics in PyeongChang.
