The Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada finished on a high for GB Park and Pipe yesterday, as James 'Woodsy' Woods and Isabel Atkin both claimed bronze medals in the Ski Slopestyle Finals.
The English Alpine Ski Championships kicked off in style under sunny skies in Bormio today, with some impressive skiing in the FIS National Junior Slalom and Under 12 & Under 10 Giant Slalom.

NSPCC launches campaign to close loopholes in law to safeguard children
The recent media coverage of abuse in football has highlighted gaps in child protection which could make our youngsters vulnerable to being abused in our clubs and snowsport settings.
The NSPCC has launced a campaign #TrustToLead.
Last weekend BSS hosted the Annual TD & Race Organisers Seminar. The Saturday Session, which is open to Race Organisers and Officials was hosted by Anne-Chantal Grevy-Pigelet (FIS Controller), Mark Berry GBR (FIS Commissioner) and Adrian Perry (GBR TD Forum Chair).
The purpose of the weekend is for TD and Race Officials to meet up, and for the dissemination of information and rule changes / clarifications from FIS.

The British Ski Academy announced as new GBR Alpine Series sponsors
The British Ski Academy has today been announced as official sponsors of the GBR Alpine Series, a series of 10 races taking place at indoor and dry slopes in the UK during the spring and summer of 2017.
We recently announced that Jamie Horner had joined the Snowsport England board and had also agreed to act as temporary chair. Our recruitment process is now complete and two more director announcements will follow shortly. The Snowsport England board will, with our new directors, be very strong.

The Delancey British National Alpine Ski Championships will return to the high profile French ski resort of Tignes for the third year in a row, as the dates for this season’s event were confirmed as the 25th March to 7th April 2017.
