Snowsport England pay tribute to Frank McCusker

Snowsport England is saddened to learn of the passing of the Ski Club of Great Britain’s Chief Executive, Frank McCusker. Our thoughts go out to his family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time.

Frank will be hugely missed by the British ski and snowboard industry where he became a prominent figure since his appointment five years ago.


Snowsport England athletes part of ‘Backing The Best’ benefit from Olympic and World Cup winning advice

Snowsport England athletes, Thea Fenwick and Bradley Fry, who are supported by the ground-breaking Backing The Best programme received expert insight and guidance from double OIympic champion Rebecca Adlington, Rugby World Cup winner Maggie Alphonsi and Team GB canoe slalom legend Richard Hounslow at a workshop last month focusing on equipping them with new skills for their future careers in sport.  

Quality on Show at the English Indoor Slopestyle Championships

The English Indoor Slopestyle Championships witnessed a great turnout of 70 skiers and snowboarders this weekend, as the event settled easily into its new home of Snozone in Castleford.

GB Park and Pipe skier Madi Rowlands finishes season on a high

GB Park and Pipe skier Madi Rowlands, who is just 17 years old, has finished the 2016/17 season ranked 2nd in the Overall AFP (Association of Freeskiing Professionals) World Rankings, 1st in the Junior AFP World Rankings for Halfpipe and 2nd in the Overall Junior AFP World Rankings.

Passing of a Pioneer

SSE’s literature and website pay tribute to the background of our Governing Body by stating that it grew out of a restructuring, in the 1970s, of the National Ski Federation of Great Britain, which was formed in 1964.

Sixteen young skiers selected as Dry Slope Ambassadors

Snowsport England has announced that 16 young skiers have been chosen to be part of their Dry Slope Ambassador Programme for the 2017-18 season, the second year the scheme has been in operation.
