UKCP Coach Level 2

THE AWARD

If you are working with more skilled athletes, both on artificial slopes and within a club in mountains then you can consider the UKCP Coach Level 2 Snowboard Award. This award is aimed at coaching athletes up to the U18 age group. The Level 2 Coach is able to operate independently in the UK and abroad as part of a club programme that is led by a Level 3 Licensed Coach. The course is very practical with candidates taking part in a number of activities.

THE REQUIREMENTS

This award has the following core components:

  • The UKCP Level 2 training course, this is delivered at a mountain ski area and takes 6 days. On successful completion of this unit, and subject to registration further requirements listed below candidates are licensed at level 2

FURTHER REQUIREMENTS

To be licenced all coaches and instructors must also:

  • Be registered with Snowsport England
  • Hold an appropriate first aid certificate
  • Have completed a Criminal Record check, now known as a DBS check
  • Have attended a safeguarding children course
  • Attend an appropriate update course every three years.
  • Complete the ‘Coach Clean’ anti-doping online learning resource.
