Key Actions and Progress from the Alpine Committee

Alpine Committee Meeting 15th Oct 2017: Key actions and progress to be noted

An Alpine Committee meeting was held on Sunday 15 October 2017 at Loughborough. The full minutes can be found here. We would like to particularly draw members’ attention to the following points:

  • 2018 Artificial Slope Calendar – The dates of the outdoor SSE events for 2018 have now been set. There will be GBRs at Stoke (6 May) and Chatham (8 July) and the All England Championships will be held at Sunderland over the late August Bank Holiday (25/26/27 August). The Stoke weekend will include a CN (Sat), GBR (Sun) and Inter Regional event (Mon).  It is hoped to also make the All England weekend a 3 race event.  Put the dates in your diaries!


  • The Course Setters’ List and Policy (for UK based events) are both being reviewed. This is being led by Simon Bannister and Paul Telling. Further information will be published when available.


  • A Level 2 Officials’ Course (25/26 November) and Officials’ Update Day (provisionally Sunday 18 March) are planned at Loughborough. It is hoped that as many officials as possible will be able to attend. If you are interested in either, please contact Andrew Hjort at 


  • The Alpine Committee, as requested by the Board, has reviewed their Terms of Reference, membership and subcommittees. This review will be submitted to the next Board meeting on the 22nd November for approval. Following this meeting, further details will be issued.
