ISA National Schools Races

Thank you to all the Schools (racers, teachers and parents) who attended Monday’s ISA National Schools Races and we hope that you all enjoyed the day.  Also an equally big thank you to the race organisers officials and sponsors such as MPI Brokers, Ski Bartlett and BISS Racing.

The race was the biggest yet run by the National Schools Snowsports Association with 462 entrants from over 80 schools nationally. Schools travelled to the Snow Centre Hemel Hempstead from as far afield as Cornwall and Devon! We believe it was the largest single day race run.

There was a real buzz at the centre with so many children attending with many racing for the first time as well as a handful of much more experienced athletes including British Children’s Team members and academy athletes. One of the sponsors was heard to say when arriving ‘Goodness, this is huge!’

With the emphasis on participation, each race was decided on the fastest run of 2 with points being scored for each placing which were combined to give the schools results for the event. Some notable performances came from new schools to the event and it was great to see so many smiling faces there.

As usual, Matt Birch Pictures were there to capture the action and these photos can be found on their website here

The NSSA are running further schools events this year with the National Schools Indoor Open later this month at Castleford and the BISS Indoor Champs at Milton Keynes in September. Contact for further information.
