Snowsports networking event LISTEX 2017 attracts over 100 industry professionals to The Snow Centre

The London International Snowsports Trade Exchange (LISTEX) 2017, which took place at The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead from 27-28 September 2017, saw over 100 professionals from the UK and international snowsports industry come together for two hugely successful days of networking, meetings, skiing and forum discussions.

The LISTEX Trade Exchange saw buyers, including new tour operators conduct meetings with suppliers over the two-days. Skiworld, Mount Vacation, and Hanski, joined established LISTEX buyers including Inghams, Neilson and Erna Low for the meetings with a mixture of resorts, hotels, ski schools, transfer companies and start ups.

The LISTEX Forum pulled together a range of experts to run workshops and be part of panel discussions and presentations. One of the highlights of the two days was Thursday’s keynote speech by Outdoor Industries Association CEO and adventurer Andrew Denton where he challenged the audience to think about a growth mindset and working on a business rather than always in the business. The workshop from Skipedia’s Iain Martin gave attendees some practical tips on content marketing and there was a lively discussion in ‘Back to the Future’ about the UK snowsports industry and the challenges it is currently facing, particularly with Brexit. The annual Dragons Den this year saw five companies pitching their business ideas to a panel of five dragons – always entertaining for the audience.

The event ended with a capstone session on ‘how to structure the growth’ including a presentation of bespoke research from specialist growth consultancy Duplare conducted for Ski Weekends, on the size and make up of the UK ski industry, revealing a market of almost 2 million skiers annually spending almost £3 billion each year

LISTEX was made possible with some key sponsors for the 2017 event. Headline sponsors of LISTEX 2017 were Skiverse, a leading aggregator of ski passes and destination services to travel agencies. They were joined by Ski-Lifts who provided transfers for LISTEX attendees over the two days. New business Huski, who delivers fresh and frozen meals and drinks to chalets ahead of or during a ski holiday provided the food for the evening party on Wednesday, with Le Verre Gourmand providing the drinks. MPI Brokers, providers of snowsports travel insurance were again on board as sponsors, their 3rd year of supporting the event.

Managing Director of LISTEX James Gambrill said of the 2017 event: “In our sixth year of running LISTEX, we are again delighted with the success of the event. We have had some excellent feedback from all parts of the industry, and the event really has become a key fixture on the snowsports calendar for networking, discussing new ideas and forming new partnerships. The Snow Centre were again incredible hosts and we thank them, along with all our sponsors, for making the whole event, including the Trade Exchange and Forum such a huge success.”

2017 is the sixth edition of the main LISTEX event, with four additional LISTEX Summer Sessions taking place over the last five years. All the presentations from LISTEX 2017 will be available on and all feedback and suggestions are welcome. Just email
