UKCP - Alpine Level 2 Coach

If you are working with more skilled athletes, both on artificial slopes and within a club in mountains then you can consider the UKCP Coach Level 2 Alpine Award.

Trainee coaches will have experience of course setting in slalom, giant slalom and speed events in a mountain environment. The course is very practical with candidates taking part in a number of activities.

This award has the following core components:

  • The UKCP Level 2 training course, this is delivered at a mountain ski area and takes 6 days. On successful completion of this unit, and subject to registration and CRB checking you are granted Level 2 Trainee status. To be given licenced status you will have to:
    • Complete a distance learning workbook.
    • On completion of the post-course logbook we now no longer require a separate assessment ,but your log book needs verifying.

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and hold Level 1 Performance UKCP trainee status, or apply for recognition of a non UK coaching award.

To be licenced all coaches and instructors must also:

  • Be registered with Snowsport England
  • Hold an appropriate first aid certificate
  • Have an appropriate DBS - see DBS disclosures
  • Have attended a safeguarding children in sport course
