British Indoor Telemark Championships Race Report

The British Indoor Telemark Championships took place at Manchester over the weekend of 30th June and 1st July, 2018.  The minus 3 of the indoor ski slope was a welcome relief from melting roads and sweltering temperatures outside.

The championships were hosted by the Manchester Cross-Country Ski Club in association with SSE and BSS.  Amongst the start list of Telemarkers from both England and Scotland were members of the British Telemark Team.  A tricky gate just after the jump on the first run caught out saw several good Telemarkers who were eliminated.  This left the field wide open.  The overall winner over the 4 runs of the championship was the pocket rocket herself, Jasmin Taylor who this season has had 11 podiums on the World Cup Circuit out of 14 races.  She can now add the British Indoor Telemark Trophy to the 4 gold medals that she has won this season on the FIS World Cup.  Sion Bingham took the men's open prize.
