Exciting Job Opportunity – English Alpine Champs Course Crew

English Alpine Championships

Bormio, Italy , 17th – 22nd February 2019

The English Alpine Championships is Snowsport England’s premier event and is held in Bormio, Italy during February half term each year. The event is run by a team of over 20 volunteers. The organising committee is looking for people to join the team as members of our Course Crew.

What does the job involve?

The job roughly consists of a busy week carrying poles; assisting the course setter; helping with security installations such as netting; drilling, slipping and repairing the course, and all the activities associated with building and maintaining the courses. It is a very busy week with a full programme of races every day so you would need to be able to handle the physical workload.

What does SSE cover?

All travel, hotel and meals are paid for, so apart from drinks, personal insurance and a lot of calories it isn't going to cost you much!

What do you get out of it?

If you are prepared to give up a week of your time, in return you will get the chance to be a part of one of the biggest events on the British Alpine ski calendar. Most of our team come back year after year, so there is clearly something special about being involved with this event.

What are the timings?

We fly out to Milan Linate on Friday February 15th from London Heathrow, returning on Saturday February 23rd.

What are the requirements for the role?

* A minimum of 17 years old

* High level of skiing ability

* Ideally an ex-racer or coach

* Preferably with experience of course maintenance at races

* Hard working and fit

* Be a team player

How do I apply?

Email Alpinechamps@snowsportengland.org.uk with a brief outline of your experience and knowledge. Any questions can also be sent to the same email address.

The deadline for applications is Friday 23rd November 2018. All applications will be acknowledged, and we expect a decision to be taken very quickly after the application deadline.
