Slopes across England offer schoolchildren the chance to ski or snowboard from £1 during National Schools Snowsport Week

Slopes across England are set to run free or heavily discounted activities as part of the second National Schools Snowsport Week sponsored by Visit Andorra (www.nssw.co.uk).

Taking place from 24-30 April 2017 this year’s event is backed by Winter Olympians Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards, Dave Ryding, Aimee Fuller and Graham Bell.

In a memorable day for British Alpine skiing, Dave Ryding fulfilled a dream, finishing second in the Slalom World Cup in Kitzbuehel, Austria, matching Great Britain’s best ever Alpine World Cup result.

America calls for Whitby skier

Freestyle skier Thea Fenwick (15), has received news that she’s been selected for a highly sought after skiing scholarship at one of America’s top training facilities.

Thea who currently trains in Leeds and Austria, received news of this exciting opportunity via the social media platform Instagram, and she’s using crowd funding to help fund it.

 

One month to go until the English Alpine Championships 2017

In under a month, over 400 of England’s best young skiers will descend on the Italian resort of Bormio for the 21st English Alpine Championships, running from 11-17th February 2017.
