Yes, you do need to do this annually alongside renewing your Snowsport England membership. This keeps your licence valid. Instructions to help you renew your license can be found here.
-
If you have renewed your licence but it is still showing ‘Action Required’, it may because one of the required elements has lapsed. Please check that the following are all valid and up to date:
First Aid certificate
UK Coaching Safeguarding & Protecting Children training
DBS
Red Coach & Instruct (or higher) membership
Your licence will show as ‘Current’ once all required elements are valid.
If this does not resolve it for you please contact us at coaching@snowsportengland.org.uk and we can look into this for you.
-
You need Red Compete membership. This is appropriate for both coaching/instructing and competing.
LICENSING
-
You can check the remits of different coaching/instructing awards and the range of operation here.
Each of our qualifications have remits of operation, these dictate where and how each qualification can be used, including UK based, on-snow and across open and closed environments. It is important that any coach or instructor is operating within the remits under which they are qualified.
-
No, coaches and instructors are only insured through our membership and affiliation, if they are operating within the remit of their licence. Their licence must also be valid.
-
You are only insured to coach/instruct within the remit of your licence, whilst your licence is valid. Please email coaching@snowsportengland.org.uk to see if we can help.
-
If you don’t want to become a Snowsport England member, you can opt for the Non-Member membership, which is only available to coaches and instructors. This is free of charge and does not include insurance cover or benefits through Snowsport England.
The details on how to do this can be found here.
Please note that any affiliated organisation using someone from a different licensing body should ensure that they are licensed and operating under the remit of that licence.
