Build on your Level 1 experience and take the next step into club-level coaching.

The Alpine Club Performance Coach (Level 2) qualification prepares you to work independently within a club environment, coaching developing alpine athletes and supporting their progression towards competitive racing. It develops your technical, tactical, and coaching knowledge so you can deliver structured training programmes for young athletes.

With this award, you’ll be able to coach club-level athletes (typically U14–U16), including those progressing into structured race environments, within UK clubs and supported alpine environments.

Minimum Age
18 years-old

Prerequisites
- Alpine Foundation Performance Coach (Level 1) or equivalent
- Be able to ski to a high, consistent technical standard

Course Duration
Six days

Assessment
Ongoing assessment during the course and through workplace training

Where you can coach
- Independently in a mountain environment (UK)
- In a mountain environment outside of the UK as part of a club programme that is led by a UK Snowsport Alpine Performance Head Coach, licensed in line with the UK Snowsport coaches’ protocol

Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is designed for:

·         Level 1 performance coaches ready to progress into independent club coaching

·         Individuals working with young ski racers in structured training environments

·         Coaches aiming to support athlete development towards competitive racing pathways

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

During the course, you’ll develop the skills needed to coach developing alpine athletes, including:

·         Planning and delivering structured race training sessions

·         Coaching U14–U16 athletes in a club environment

·         Developing technical and tactical performance in skiing

·         Analysing athlete performance and providing effective feedback

·         Working within a team of coaches and supporting a head coach programme

·         Understanding athlete progression towards competitive skiing

You’ll also strengthen your ability to adapt coaching to different environments and athlete needs, including artificial and mountain settings.

Working towards YOUR LICENCE

To complete your Level 2 qualification:

·         Complete the full training course

·         Demonstrate competence across coaching, skiing and technical knowledge assessment

·         Maintain and complete your logbook

·         Hold current Snowsport England membership

Additional requirements for licensing include: valid First Aid, safeguarding training and DBS check.

What’s next?

Once qualified, you can progress to the Alpine Head Performance Coach (Level 3), where you will begin leading programmes and managing coach development within club and performance environments.
