Take your first step into coaching moguls skiing and learn how to support and develop freestyle skiers in a structured environment.
The Moguls Coach (Level 1) qualification is designed to provide experienced freestyle skiers with the skills to coach mogul skiing on artificial and indoor snow slopes. It introduces the fundamentals of safe, effective coaching in a moguls environment.

Minimum Age
16 years-old
Prerequisites
- Be able to link parallel turns down a mogul run in either a snowdome or on an artificial slope in control

Two days (14 hours)

Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is designed for:
· Experienced freestyle skiers looking to begin coaching moguls
· Individuals working in freestyle or club environments
· Coaches looking to specialise in mogul skiing development
Please note: This qualification does not accredit coaches to teach inverted aerials (jumps where the hips go above the head).
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
During the course, you will develop the ability to:
· Coach the fundamentals of mogul skiing on artificial and indoor slopes
· Support developing skiers in a safe freestyle environment
· Apply basic coaching principles from Levels 1 and 2 skiing frameworks
· Focus on attitude, appearance, and coaching approach
· Prioritise safety, enjoyment, and learning in all sessions
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To qualify as a Moguls Coach, you must also hold a:
- UK Snowsports Level 2 qualification
or
- BASI Level 2 qualification (or equivalent)
or
- Complete the Skilful Skiing training course and a judges course
Additional requirements for licensing include: valid First Aid, safeguarding training and DBS check.
