Cross-Country Ski COACH - Level 4

The Cross-Country Ski Coach (Level 4) qualification is the highest award in the Snowsport England Cross-Country coaching pathway. It equips experienced coaches with the advanced knowledge, technical expertise and leadership skills to coach skiers from beginner through to advanced and expert level.
With this award, you'll be able to lead long-term athlete development programmes, support the development of instructors and coaches, and make a significant contribution to your club and the wider cross-country skiing community.
QUALIFICATION OVERVIEW
Minimum age
18 years-old
Pre-requisites
- Cross-Country Ski Instructor (Level 3) or recognised equivalent
- Demonstrate an expert technical standard in both classic and skate skiing (typically Snowsport England 6* On-Snow Proficiency or equivalent)
- Have significant coaching experience working with cross-country skiers
- Complete the required coaching portfolio.
Course duration
Course duration varies depending on the programme and assessment requirements
Assessment
Assessment includes a combination of:
· Personal skiing assessment.
· Practical coaching assessment.
· Portfolio submission.
· Presentation and professional discussion.
· Ongoing evaluation of coaching knowledge and practice.

Working towards YOUR LICENCE
To complete your Level 4 qualification, you need to:
Meet all prerequisite requirements
Successfully complete the training and assessment course
Complete the required coaching portfolio and assessment tasks
Hold current Snowsport England membership
Additional requirements for licensing include: valid First Aid, safeguarding training and DBS check.
