Develop your coaching expertise and help skiers achieve their long-term goals.

The Roller Ski Coach (Level 3) qualification marks the transition from instructing to coaching. It equips you with the knowledge, technical understanding and coaching skills to support skiers over the longer term, helping them develop their technique, confidence and performance.

With this award, you'll be able to coach roller skiers of all abilities, design progressive coaching programmes and play an active role in developing participants, instructors and your club or organisation.

QUALIFICATION OVERVIEW

Minimum age
18 years-old

Pre-requisites
- Roller Ski Instructor (Level 2) or recognised equivalent

- Be able to demonstrate all ski techniques described in the Snowsport England roller ski 5* proficiency scheme

- Have a minimum of 40 hours of cross-country roller ski instructional experience, recorded in your logbook (or equivalent).

- Complete a coaching portfolio demonstrating your work with skiers over a sustained period

Three days (18 hours)

Continuous assessment throughout the training course

Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is designed for:

  • Qualified Level 2 Roller Ski Instructors ready to move into coaching

  • Coaches supporting athlete development within clubs

  • Instructors looking to plan longer-term coaching programmes rather than individual lessons

Working towards YOUR LICENCE

To complete your Level 3 qualification, you need to:

·       Hold the Roller Ski Instructor (Level 2) qualification.

·       Attend and successfully complete the full course.

·       Meet the required assessment criteria.

·       Hold current Snowsport England membership.

Additional requirements for licensing include: valid First Aid, safeguarding training and DBS check.
